The Human-Interaction Group at the University of Bamberg is opening a position starting 1 November 2020 as a


Full-time Graduate/Post-Doc Research and Teaching Assistant (m/f/d)

(100% full-time; German tariff scale TV-L E 13)



until 31 October 2022. We aim to extend it up to 6 years. The position is full-time and offers the possibility of doing a PhD or Post-Doc. Part-time employment is basically possible.

The HCI Group designs, develops, and evaluates technological concepts, prototypes, and systems based on an understanding of how people interact with and communicate through information and communication technology.

Task description:
  • Participation at the research, particular in design, developing and evaluation technological concepts, prototypes, and systems based on an understanding of how people interact with and communicate through information and communication technology
  • Teaching and supervising seminar and bachelor’s and master’s theses
  • Own scientific qualification with the aim Ph.D. or Habilitation


Requirement profile:
  • Master or PhD degrees in Computer Science or related areas is a prerequisite
  • Experience in the conception, implementation, and evaluation of interactive and cooperative systems. As a candidate you have experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly in the areas of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and Social Media, or Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp)
  • Experience in programming (esp. Java, Kotlin, Swift)
  • Good command of English (and willingness to learn German)
  • Experience in macOS is a bonus

Am Lehrstuhl für Mensch-Computer-Interaktion der Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg ist zum 01.11.2020 die Stelle einer/eines


Wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiterin / Mitarbeiters (m/w/d)

(100% der regelmäßigen Arbeitszeit; Entgeltgruppe TV-L E 13)


zunächst befristet bis 30.10.2022 zu besetzen. Eine Weiterbeschäftigung wird angestrebt. Die Stelle ist grundsätzlich teilzeitfähig.

Am Lehrstuhl MCI werden technologische Konzepte, Prototypen und Systeme auf der Grundlage des Verstehens von menschlicher Interaktion mit und Kommunikation durch Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie konzipiert, entwickelt, und evaluiert.

Aufgabenbeschreibung:
  • Mitarbeit in der Forschung des Lehrstuhls, insbesondere im Bereich der Konzeption, Implementation und Evaluation interaktiver und kooperativer Systeme
  • Abhalten von Lehrveranstaltungen sowie Betreuung von Seminar- und Abschlussarbeiten
  • Eigene wissenschaftliche Qualifizierung mit dem Ziel der Promotion bzw. Habilitation

Anforderungsprofil:
  • Hochschulabschluss (Master oder vergleichbar) in Informatik oder fachverwandten Studienbereichen
  • Erfahrung in der Mensch-Computer-Interaktion (Human-Computer Interaction, HCI) und insb. in den Bereichen Rechnergestützte Gruppenarbeit (Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, CSCW) und Social Media oder Mobile und Ubiquitous Computing
  • Programmiererfahrung (insb. Java, Kotlin, Swift)
  • Gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
  • macOS-Kenntnisse sind von Vorteil
