Augmenting IM through Communication Behaviour Awareness

Description

Instant messaging has increasingly become an established way of communication. Nowadays the use of IM clients for information exchange is not just a leisure activity for teenagers but it has become a popular option for companies to coordinate work steps or for students to share or gain knowledge by communicating with their fellow students. A crucial point to offer a simple, natural and effective chat between the users is the presentation of different awareness data. Integrated into the project PILS this bachelor theses' aim is to analyze which metadata may be extracted from the communication behaviour of chat users and how this awareness information could be used and displayed to improve the PILS IM tool.
