We guarantee the position until 31 December 2017 and aim to extend it up to 6 years. The position is full-time and offers the possibility of doing a PhD or Post-Doc.

The HCI Group designs, develops, and evaluates technological concepts, prototypes, and systems based on an understanding of how people interact with and communicate through information and communication technology.

Successful candidates will support the team in the design and administration of user studies as well as the analysis and documentation of the results. As a candidate you have experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly in Usability Engineering and ideally are familiar with the fields Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing. Assistants at the University of Bamberg are paid employees of the university, who pursue a Ph.D. or Post-Doc and participate in the research, teaching and other activities of the HCI group.

We wish:

• Master or PhD degree with a strong empirical focus (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors or related areas) is a prerequisite
• Knowledge of and experience with quantitative empirical research methods.
• Experience with statistics software (e.g., SPSS, R)
• Good command of English (and willingness to learn German)

Am Lehrstuhl für Mensch-Computer-Interaktion der Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg ist zum 1.5.2016 in Vollzeit die Stelle einer/eines




zunächst befristet bis 31.12.2017 zu besetzen. Eine Weiterbeschäftigung bis insgesamt sechs Jahre wird angestrebt.

Am Lehrstuhl MCI werden technologische Konzepte, Prototypen und Systeme auf der Grundlage des Verstehens von menschlicher Interaktion mit und Kommunikation durch Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie konzipiert, entwickelt, und evaluiert.

Als neue/r Mitarbeiter in /Mitarbeiter verstärken Sie das Team im Bereich Planung und Durchführung von Benutzerstudien sowie der Analyse und Dokumentation der Ergebnisse. Sie bringen Erfahrung in der Mensch-Computer-Interaktion (Human-Computer Interaction, HCI) und insb. im Usability Engineering mit und idealerweise auch Kenntnisse der Rechnergestützten Gruppenarbeit (Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, CSCW) und des Mobile und Ubiquitous Computing mit. Sie arbeiten aktiv an der Lehre und Forschung des Lehrstuhls mit.

Gewünscht werden:

• abgeschlossenes Universitätsstudium oder Promotion mit starkem empirischen Fokus (z.B.: der Psychologie, Soziologie, Mensch-Computer-Interaktion, Human Factors, o.ä.) gilt als Voraussetzung
• Kenntnisse von und Erfahrungen mit quantitativen empirischen Methoden
• Erfahrung mit Statistiksoftware (z. B.: SPSS, R)
• gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
