print

Introduction

In order to receive full credit for your assignments the following rules and regualtions have to be regarded. Violation can cost up to 100% of your assignment credit. Please read the information on this page carefully, you are responsible for the knowledge of it.

Rules and regulations for the assignements are comprised of two parts:
  1. General terms of regulation (this document).
  2. Specific terms of regulation issued with each group of assignments.
Make sure you find, read, and understand both parts!

Credits

Regard submission dates, deadlines and formats. Make sure you know how to obtain your credit. Assignments may be comprised of mandatory and optional parts. There may also be parts offering extra credit. This is assignment specific. Be careful, some assignments require your presence in order to receive full credit!

Language

Use British English for all types of documents you create in the assignments, such as presentations, reports, documentations, java docs, or source code comments.

Submission

Each assignment describes the required submission format and date. The way you need to submit your results may be either CVS or files (.zip or .tar.gz) in combination with an upload link or email. Make sure you know which type is required and in what format.

Dates and Deadlines

Unless stated otherwise in assignment specific regulations, our assignments are due on a certain date before a stated deadline i.e. if the latest possible submission date is at 16.59, then this is the latest date accepted. Our server logs the submission time, and we cannot accept any later submissions. So, don't risk your credits — submit in time!

Presence

The assignment's schedule reads whether your presence is required or not. Some meetings offer extra help or provide a background needed to understand the assignment. Make sure you know your dates and deadlines and determine when your presence is required. In case you cannot be present but your participation is required you need to provide a medical report or equivalent. Some assignments only allow you to miss a certain number of meetings for whatever reason in order to receive full or partial credit.

Groups and Teamwork

Unless stated otherwise in the assignment's specific terms, the work to be done in the assignments needs to be done by the person wishing to receive the credit.

Plagiarism

"Plagiarism is the passing off of another person's work as one's own." [see Wikipedia Contibutors. Plagiarism---Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Wikipedia, 2006.external link (Accessed 14/04/2008)].

If you cite another one's work make shure to mark all corresponding text passages as such. Presenting someone else's work (whole or parts) as if it was your own work will lead to exclusion from the assignments.
