Boundary Management

The full title is Boundary Management between Life Domains to Increase Connectedness and Reduce Distraction for a Better Work-Life Balance.

Description

The project Boundary Management aims at increasing connectedness between people and reduce distraction through technology and others. This requires understanding of users’ life domains, borders, transitions, long-term strategies and short in-situ tactics as well as developing concepts and tools to smoothen the human-computer and human-computer-human interaction.

Approach

The approach is multifaceted and combines theoretical research and conceptualisations, empirical work with quantitative and qualitative insights, and conceptual and technological development of tools. For studying boundary management and interruption in the wild, we have been developing various tools for experience sampling.
