Tutorials

Information on accepted tutorials can be found here.

Leading researchers and practitioners have the opportunity to present tutorials on 14 and 15 September 2015. Tutorials may cover any aspect of Human-Computer Interaction. A panel of referees will select tutorial proposals with the goal to offer a broad and valuable selection of topics. Selection will be based on the following criteria:

• Range of topics covered
• Balancing of tutorials for all audiences (beginners, advanced, research oriented, practitioner oriented, etc.)
• Tutorials focusing on all stages of the (user-centred) design and development process
• Quality of the submission

Accepted tutorials will be held only if they attract the required minimum number of participants. The organisation will reimburse one conference registration fee (early bird) per Tutorial (two if the tutorial achieves more than 20 attendees registered).

To apply, submit a tutorial proposal with maximum four pages (2 plus 2) in .PDF format. The tutorial proposal must follow the Springer Lecture Notes template for Microsoft Word and shall include:

• A two-page abstract for the advanced program including title of the tutorial, learning objectives of the tutorial, content of the tutorial, duration of the tutorial (half day, full day, or two-day), intended audience, and reading list (literature) that is suggested for the course. This abstract will be published in the conference proceedings by Springer in the LNCS Series.
• A two-page document on additional information including the background of the tutor(s), description of the pedagogical concept etc. This means:
  • Justification: explain why this course would be of interest to the Interact audience
  • Background of attendees: describe the assumed background and expected skills of attendees. Include who should not take the course.
  • Presentation format: explain how the course will be conducted.
  • Schedule: describe time allocations to the course content.
  • Audience size: what is the preferred audience size?

The Conference Organisers will provide data projectors and projection screens in each room. If any additional resources are required, this must be indicated in the proposal.

Deadline for submitting a tutorial is 6 Feb. 2015 - 23:59 CET, using the conference submission system at http://www.conftool.com/interact2015. Submissions for tutorials are NOT anonymous.
